Baahubali 2 [Hindi] has set a record, and that would be quite tough to break in the coming months at the least. In just two weeks flat it has amassed Rs. 390.25 crore at the Box Office. With this, it is now neck to neck with the highest grosser till date, Dangal, which collected Rs. 387.38 crore in its lifetime run. The Aamir Khan film had set this record in January this year (after its December release last year) and now in less than four months it is a new film which is not just set to sit at the top of the list but also surpass it by a distance by the time its lifetime run is through.
The film has done exceedingly well to maintain a double digit score on every day since its release. On its second Thursday too it gathered Rs. 12.75 crore more and now all eyes are on whether it would manage to cross the 10 crore mark today as well. It would be tough though since the screens are now almost half of what it had when released, what with Sarkar 3, Meri Pyaari Bindu and Alien: Covenant hitting the screens. Though the sum total of Baahubali 2 [Hindi] screens are still more than the combined count of Sarkar 3 and Meri Pyaari Bindu, the first day audiences would prefer the new releases.
That said, the story is going to be different tomorrow and day after as family audiences would again be back for Baahubali 2 [Hindi] hence proving to be tough competition for Sarkar 3 and Meri Pyaari Bindu. This is always the case with a set film where audiences are now giving it a repeat run and hence it would all boil down to the content of the new releases. If that works out then at least one of them has a chance to go ahead and do something substantial in days to come.
