For A Gentleman to move towards a decent total, the need of the hour was a big jump on Saturday. After all, Friday collections were lower than expected and while there were external factors that resulted in this number, there was always a ground available for the film to see an increase an momentum.
There wasn’t much of a growth though, what with Rs. 4.36 crore coming in even though there was a stage wide open for it to perform. The other new Hindi releases haven’t made much of an impact whereas holdover releases like Toilet – Ek Prem Katha and Bareilly Ki Barfi are doing well but on the lower side. Hence, the Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer could have actually gone much ahead.
Nonetheless, the film has accumulated Rs. 8.40 crore so far and though there may be further increment today, the weekdays are going to be extremely crucial for the film. Director duo Raj-DK’s last release Happy Ending had taken a Rs. 4 crore opening day and then winded up the weekend with Rs. 13 crore. A Gentleman should have a better number but that’s about it.
