Of late, many of the revelations made by Rishi Kapoor has left many surprised and shocked, especially after the launch of his book ‘Khullam Khulla – Uncensored’. Amidst all of this, the veteran star for the first time of sorts also spoke about his equation with his actor-son Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor has been born in an influential Bollywood family but the actor in his foreword for Rishi Kapoor’s autobiography also mentioned that he shared a formal relationship with his father and not a friendly one where he could speak anything to him. Talking about the same, Rishi credited his wife and former actress Neetu Kapoor for making the kids understand the value of money. Besides that, he also mentioned that the children have been closer to their mother Neetu since he never wanted to be a backslapping father and always wanted to maintain a distance.
Talking about his son’s academics, Rishi Kapoor revealed that Ranbir Kapoor wasn’t really a scorer, something that resembled his own mark-sheet during his young days. He also added that his son, Ranbir, though belonged to the prestigious Bollywood Kapoor family, was taught the importance of money and during his student days in New York, the now Gen Y star shared a room with a friend. Rishi asserted that his son has lived a frugal lifestyle and they did want to spoil him by giving him too much of pocket money.
Also, speaking about the father-son bond further, Rishi Kapoor added that he did not get a chance to reprimand his son, who according to him, was a good boy but he never got enough time to spend with his parents because he rarely stayed with them.
