Salman Khan is a man with a heart of gold is something that will be vouched by millions of helpless who found their saviour in the ‘Dabanng’ Khan. Readers may recall that it’s the same superstar who was recently announced as the brand ambassador for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) anti open defecation drive.
In a recent visit to Aarey Colony, as a part of the anti open defecation drive, Salman Khan and BMC’s Assistant Municipal Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar (in charge of BMC’s Swachh Bharat campaign) found that the toilets in Aarey Colony’s unit number B (Madras Pada slum) were not upto the mark and that the people living in this area are forced to defecate in the open because of bad toilet conditions and also due to the lack of sufficient seats. The local residents also told Salman Khan that Aarey Colony’s authority had prevented the BMC from conducting any kind of repair work stating that the said location was under their jurisdiction.
Wasting no time, Salman Khan immediately decided upon bearing the cost of the toilets’ repair in Aarey Colony’s unit number B. The actor then assured the residents that his ‘Being Human’ foundation would be bearing the cost for existing toilets’ repairs and also will be providing mobile toilets. Salman Khan also took a step ahead wherein he spoke to the concerned officials from Aarey in obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to prevent any hurdles.
