Shah Rukh Khan, who is gearing up for his first big release in 2017 titled Raees, has emerged as the most talked about celebrity on social networking site Twitter. Shah Rukh Khan beat his contemporary and friend Salman Khan in the top male celebrity of the year list. The actor was mentioned in 36 percent share of the conversations whereas Salman Khan had an 18 percent share. The rating is done on basis of actors account handle mentions.
While SRK is leading in male celebrities, Priyanka Chopra who is a global celebrity now, has emerged as the most talked about female star in 2016 on Twitter with a 23 per cent share among the top 10. She has been followed by Alia Bhatt with an 18 per cent share. Others on the list are Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor, Kajol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Sunny Leone.
Twitter also released the list of Gen-next star in which Varun Dhawan came out at the top followed by Akshay Kumar and megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Others on the list include Hrithik Roshan, Sidharth Malhotra, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh.
Although Salman Khan didn’t make it to the list of most talked about male celebrities, his film Sultan was the leading film in the list with 25 percent share. It was followed by Ranbir Kapoor‘s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with a 15 percent share and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay. Shahid Kapoor‘s Udta Punjab and Alia Bhatt’s Dear Zindagi that centered around some serious issues also made it to the top five most spoken about films list in 2016. Akshay Kumar’s two movies Rustom and Airlift, Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan, Ranveer Singh’s Befikre, Aamir Khan‘s Dangal are the other films that featured in the top ten most spoken about films of 2016 on Twitter.
