It’s a tricky subject and not everyone will back it. It requires courage of conviction to back a film that has ‘Toilet’ in its title. Akshay Kumar has displayed that he is filled with courage and ‘Conviction’ is his middle name for when he believes in something, he goes the full distance. The promo of Toilet Ek Prem Katha launches today. It is a simple story of a villager who falls in love with a headstrong beautiful girl and how the lack of toilet in his house causes a rift in his marital life. The resistance that comes from within family is because of the illogical mix between ‘faith’ and a necessity that just can’t be compromised upon.
What’s important to note is that in spite of the serious social message the fast paced promo entertains you at all levels as the writing is fun-n-frothy and celebrates the earthy humour that you get to experience in the interiors of the country. Akshay Kumar is making great choices of scripts and characters. Toilet Ek Prem Katha adds to his knack for making worthy choices. Bhumi Pednekar is completely different from the overweight but confident girl of Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Her solid belief and sauciness is the backbone of the promo. Divyendu Sharma, the funny man of Pyaar Ka Punchanam plays Akshay’s friend and delivers some punchy lines. Toilet Ek Prem Katha has been written by Siddharth Garima and directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
