Two of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s most cherished dreams are coming true. “I always wanted to go into space and I wanted to dance. I am getting to do both in my forthcoming films,” says Nawaz who plays an astronaut in Sanjay Chauhan’s Chanda Mama Door Ke and an aspiring dancer in Sabir Khan’s Munna Michael.
He admits dancing is more difficult than floating in space. “Dancing with Tiger Shroff is more difficult than going into space. We are in Delhi for a 4-day shoot of Munna Michael. The dance director Ganesh Acharya has a very tough time getting me to do the steps right. It doesn’t help when the other dancer is Tiger Shroff,” says Nawaz with a laugh. “But I enjoy dancing. I may not be getting the moves right. But I think I am dancing the way I am meant to.”
It helps to have a team that is so calm and collected. “Working with Tiger and my director Sabir Khan is very calming. For me it’s very important to work with good people. In director Ravi Udyawar’s Mom I got to work with Srideviji. I used to watch her films when I was not an actor. I dreamt of one day being on screen with her. Cinema is where all your dreams come true.”
